Me and Vikram, down by Zuccotti Park

Citi's CEO says he'd meet with Occupy Wall Street protesters.

Fortune this morning hosted a breakfast interview with Citigroup (C) CEO Vikram Pandit, who said that the bank will report continued profitability for Q3 and that it is on track to hit its own metrics for future success (shocking, I know). He also claims to have not watched the HBO adaptation of Too Big To Fail.

Near the end, Pandit was asked for his thoughts on the Occupy Wall Street protesters. He called their concerns "completely understandable," adding that "trust has been broken between financial institutions and citizens." At the end, he broke through the lip service by adding: "I'd be happy to talk to them anytime they want."

Really Vikram? If so, good for you. It's hard for people to understand each other when they don't speak face-to-face.

My guess is that many of the protesters would like to have that conversation today. I'll be down there tonight, and can moderate for you if things get a bit tense. Fortune can get you my contact info... Seriously, I'm not joking. Were you?
