Auren Hoffman joins VC firm

December 19, 2011: 7:08 PM ET

Serial entrepreneur and angel investor Auren Hoffman has joined Founders Fund as a venture partner, according to a recent update on the firm's website.

The position would appear to be part-time, as Hoffman remains listed as CEO of Rapleaf -- a San Francisco-based provider of online personalization solutions that counts Founders Fund among its venture capital investors.

Hoffman also is a non-employee co-founder of both BrightRoll and ReTargeter, while he founded and sold three other Internet companies before the age of 30: BridgePath, GetRelevant, and Kyber Systems.

As an angel investor, Hoffman's portfolio includes Blip.tv, Huddler, Klout, Proven.com, Socializr and Zoom Systems.

Founders Fund recently closed its fourth suite of funds with $625 million in capital commitments.

I've left message at both Rapleaf and Founders Fund, and will update this post if either group chooses to comment.
