January 23, 2012: 9:33 AM ETJoyent, a San Francisco-based provider of cloud computing software and services, has raised $85 million in new VC funding. Weather Investment II led the round, and was joined by Telefonica Digital and return backers El Dorado Ventures, Epic Ventures, Greycroft Partners, Intel Capital, and Liberty Global. Mykonos Software Inc., a San Francisco-based provider of web security software, has raised $4 million in Series A funding, according to VentureWire. Backers include Tom Golisano (Paychex), Jeff Clarke (Orbitz) and Mike Jones (Federated Clover Investment Advisors). www.mykonossoftware.com
Fantasy Shopper, a UK-based online experience that socialises and gamifies online shopping, has raised $3.3 million in first-round funding from Accel Partners and New Enterprise Associates. www.fantasyshopper.com
Betapond, an Ireland-based maker of Facebook apps and related retail marketing products, has raised €1.15 million in VC funding. Backers include Bank of Ireland Start-up and Emerging Sectors Equity Fund, Irrus Investments and Enterprise Ireland. www.betapond.com
