Bank of America has reached out to several private equity firms to weigh their interest in acquiring chemicals company Huntsman Corp. (NYSE: HUN), according to Reuters. It is unclear if BoA made the calls – whose recipients included Bain Capital, Advent International, KKR and Warburg Pincus --on Huntsman's behalf. Not listed among the possible suitors is Apollo Global Management, whose Hexion portfolio company had agreed to buy Huntsman for $6.5 billion in the summer of 2007. Hexion later terminated the deal, and agreed to pay a $750 million penalty. CVC Capital Partners and Clessidra have offered to acquire Italian aerospace supplier Avio from Cinven, according to Bloomberg. The bids values Avio at more than €3 billion. www.aviogroup.com

Pact Group, an Australian packaging company, has hired Deutsche Bank to advise on a sale of around half the company, according to Reuters. The deal could be worth approximately $700 million, with suitors including The Blackstone Group, The Carlyle Group and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.www.pactgroup.com.au

PaR Systems Inc., a Shoreview, Minn.-based provider of, has acquired OakRiver Technology Inc., an Oakdale, Minn.–based provider of automated equipment platforms for medical device and high tech industrial clients. No financial terms were disclosed. PaR Systems is backed by MML Capital Partners, while OakRiver owners had included Hammond, Kennedy, Whitney & Co. and Hancock Capital Managementwww.par.com

Tiburon Inc., a Pleasanton, Calif.-based provider of automated public safety and security solutions, has acquired Total Enforcement, an automated law enforcement records management and computer aided dispatch solution, from Total Computer Software. No financial terms were disclosed. Tiburon is a portfolio company of The Gores Groupwww.tiburoninc.com

Wohler Technologies, a portfolio company of Hanover Partners, has acquired RadiantGrid Technologies, a Hayward, Calif.–based developer of a new media automation platform. No financial terms were disclosed. www.radiantgrid.com
