Lumos Labs, a San Francisco-based maker of online games for cognitive improvement,, has raised $31.5 million in Series D funding. Discovery Communications (Nasdaq: DISCA) led the round, and was joined by return backers FirstMark Capital, Harrison Metal, Menlo Ventures and Norwest Venture Partners. www.lumosity.com

Mocana
, a San Francisco-based provider of software and network services for securing connected devices and the information, has raised $25 million in Series D funding. Trident Capital led the round, and was joined by return backers Intel Capital, Shasta Ventures, Southern Cross Ventures and Symantec. www.mocana.com

Telcare, a Bethesda, Md.-based provider of cellular-enabled glucose monitors and a cloud-based companion system, has raised $25.5 million in second-round funding. Sequoia Capital led the round, and was joined by return backer Qualcomm Life Fund.

AbsolutData, an Alameda, Calif.-based provider of data analytics services to global organizations, has raised $20 million in funding from Fidelity Growth Partners Indiawww.absolutdata.com

Convergent.io
, a San Jose, Calif.-based enterprise storage startup, has raised $10 million in Series A funding from Andreessen Horowitz. The company was founded by a pair of XenSource veterans, while Andreessen Horowitz partner and onetime XenSource CEO Peter Levine will join the Convergent.io board of directors. www.convergent.io

, a Ridgefield, Conn.-based event management software platform, has raised $7.75 million in Series B funding. Level Equity led the round, and was joined by return backers Greycroft Partners, Cava Capital, and Connecticut Innovations. www.etouches.com

3DR Laboratories Inc., a Louisville, Ky.-based provider of 3D imaging services to hospitals, image centers and teleradiology firms, has raised $7.2 million from Advantage Capital Partners. The funds were raised in connection with the federal and Kentucky New Markets Development programs.www.advantagecap.com

TriPlay, an Israeli provider of cross-platform cloud services, has raised $5 million in Series C funding from Kenges Rakishevwww.triplay.com

MobileSpaces Inc., a San Francisco-based provider of solutions for securing personal data on enterprise devices, has raised $3 million in Series A funding from Accel Partners.www.mobilespaces.com

CloudPhysics, a data center analytics startup, has raised $2.5 million in VC funding from Mayfield Fundand individual angels like VMware co-founders Diane Greene and Mendel Rosenblum.www.cloudphysics.com

, a Santa Clara, Calif.-based consumer electronics startup focused on wireless content distribution and consumption, has raised $2.1 million in seed funding from Roger McNamee and Floodgate Fund.www.plair.com
