Wanderful Media (f.k.a. ShopCo), a Los Gatos, Calif.-based digital local discovery shopping company, has raised $22 million in new strategic funding. Backers include Advance Digital, A. H. Belo Corp., Community Newspaper Holdings Inc., Cox Media Group, The E. W. Scripps Co., Gannett Co., GateHouse Media, Hearst Corp., Lee Enterprises, MediaNews Group, The McClatchy Co. and The Washington Post Co. www.wanderful.com

Capillary Technologies, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based provider of cloud-based customer engagement software solutions for retailers, has raised $15.5 million in Series A funding. Sequoia Capital andNorwest Venture Partners co-led the round, and were joined by Qualcomm Ventures.

Dataminr, a New York-based provider of real-time social media analytics for the financial and government markets, has raised $13 million in Series B funding. No investor information was disclosed.www.dataminr.com

Mobiplug Networks Inc., a Boulder, Colo.-based provider of an all-in-one home monitoring and control solution, has raised $2.7 million in Series A funding. Foundry Group led the round, and was joined by Bullet Time Ventures, SK Ventures, Social Leverage and Clarion Direct Investment. In other Mobiplug news, the company named former Tendril Networks CEO Tim Enwall as its new CEO.www.mobiplug.com

Ubooly, a digitally interactive plush toy that leverages iPods and iPhones, has raised $1.5 million in Series A funding from backers like SoftTechVC, 500 Startups and Bullet Time Ventures. www.ubooly.com
