American Tower Corp. (NYSE: AMT) has agreed to acquire 883 transmission towers from listed Mexican telecom company Axetel for approximately $250 million. www.americantower.com

Aeon Co. Ltd. (Tokyo: 8267) and Thailand's Central Group are considering bids for an 80% stake in Indonesian retail group PT Matahari Department Store, according to Reuters. The stake is being sold by CVC Capital Partners, which is seeking upwards of $3.5 billion. www.matahari.co.id

Compuware Corp. (Nasdaq: CPWR) has rejected a $2.3 billion buyout proposal from Elliott Management, and instead said that it plans to spin off its Covisint cloud software unit via a public listing.www.compuware.com

Lenovo Group's chief financial officer yesterday told Bloomberg that the company is "looking at all opportunities – RIM and many others." Despite the noncommittal nature of the comment, RIM shares jumped more than 12%. www.lenovo.com
