Tamini Group, an Italian maker of power station and industrial appliance transformers, has hired Banca IMI and Lazard to find a buyer, according to Reuters. The company has annual revenue of around €130 million. www.tamini.com

Babbel.com, a German language learning startup, has acquired PlaySay, a Philadelphia-based social language learning app for the iPhone. No financial terms were disclosed. Babbel has raised VC funding from such firms as Kizoo Technology Capital and Novak Biddle Venture Partners, while Novak Biddle also had backed PlaySay. www.babbel.com

TripAdvisor (Nasdaq: TRIP) has acquired Tiny Post, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based local review app based on photos and short captions. No financial terms were disclosed. www.tripadvisor.com
