Sherpa, a Redwood City, Calif.-based virtual personal assistant for Android-powered mobile devices, has raised $1.6 million in angel funding. www.yourvirtualsherpa.com

Novira Therapeutics Inc., a Doylestown, Penn.-based antiviral drug discovery company focused on the treatment of chronic HBV and HIV infections, a Doylestown, Penn.-based, has expanded its Series A round to $25 million with a new commitment from Versant Ventures. It previously announced a first close from 5AM Ventures, Canaan Partners, WuXi PharmaTech, BioAdvance, Mid-Atlantic Angel Group, Robin Hood Ventures and Delaware Crossing Investment Group. http://www.noviratherapeutics.com

Pluribus Networks, a Palo Alto, Calif.–based maker of hardware-accelerated network virtualization for private and public cloud datacenters, has raised an undisclosed amount of Series C funding from China Broadband Capital. The company has raised $44 million in total funding, including prior investments from Menlo Ventures, New Enterprise Associates.
