Apptio, a Bellevie, Wash.-based provider of on-demand technology business management solutions, has raised $45 million in Series E funding. Janus CapitalThe Hillman Co. and an undisclosed "institutional investor" co-led the round, and were joined by return backers Andreessen Horowitz, Greylock Partners, Madrona Venture Group, Shasta Ventures and T. Rowe Price. The company has now raised a total of $136 million. www.apptio.com

AirWatch, an Atlanta-based provider of enterprise mobility management and security solutions, has raised $25 million in new VC funding from Accel Partners. This follows a $200 million Series A round from earlier this year, which was led by Insight Venture Partners. www.air-watch.com

Marqeta
, an Emeryville, Calif.-based in-store payment platform that rewards online prepayment, has raised $14 million in Series B funding. Greylock Partners and Granite Ventures led the round, and were joined by new investor Commerce Ventures. www.marqeta.com

BonitaSoft
, a San Francisco-based provider of open source business process management solutions, has raised $13 million in Series C funding. FSN PME Fund led the round, and was joined by return backers Serena Capital, Ventech and Auriga Partners. www.bonitasoft.com

EdgeSpring
, a San Mateo, Calif.–based provider of enterprise business intelligence and analytics solutions, has raised $11 million in Series A funding from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers andLightspeed Ventureswww.edgespring.com

LittleInc Labs Inc.
 (a.k.a. MessageMe), a San Francisco-based provider of multimedia messaging application for mobile devices, has raised $10 million in new VC funding, according to a regulatory filing. It previously was seeded by Greylock Partners, True Ventures, SV Angel, Resolut.vc, First Round Capital and Andreessen Horowitz. www.messageme.com

Work Market, a New York-based freelance labor platform and marketplace, has raised $10 million in second-round funding. Softbank Capital led the round, and was joined by return backers Spark Capital and Union Square Ventures. www.workmarket.com

StepLeader Inc.
, a Raleigh, N.C.-based provider of mobile app development and advertising sales for local media and college sports, has raised $4.4 million in new VC funding. River Cities Capital Fundsled the round, and was joined by Bull City Venture Partners. www.stepleader.com

SimpleTuition Inc.
, a Boston-based provider of online information for making education financing decisions, has raised $4 million in Series B funding. Return backers include Atlas Venture, Flybridge Capital Partners and North Hill Ventures. www.simpletuition.com

Versus IO
, a Berlin-based product comparison platform, has raised $2.8 million in Series A funding.Earlybird Venture Capital led the round, and was joined by seed backers 500 Startups, High-Tech Gründerfonds and individual angels. www.versusio.com

Active Life Scientific Inc.
, a Santa Barbara, Calif.-based life science research and diagnostic tools startup, has raised $500,000 in new Series A funding from investors like Tech Coast Angels.www.activelifescientific.com
