MemSQL, a San Francisco–based provider of distributed in-memory database technology for real-time big data analytics, has raised $35 million in Series B funding. Accel Partners led the round, and was joined by Khosla Ventures and return backers First Round Capital and Data Collective,www.memsql.com 

Intercom, a San Francisco-based personal messaging service for businesses and their customers, has raised $23 million in Series B funding. Bessemer Venture Partners led the round, and was joined by return backer The Social+Capital Partnership. www.intercom.io

Nexmo, a provider of high-volume mobile messaging solutions, has raised $18 million in Series C funding. Sorenson Capital led the round, and was joined by return backers Intel Capital and NHN Investment. www.nexmo.com

Docker Inc., a San Francisco-based open-source engine for lightweight app deployment, has raised $15 million in Series B funding. Greylock Partners led the round, and was joined by Insight Venture Partners and return backers Benchmark, Trinity Ventures and Jerry Yang. www.docker.com

Zepp, a Los Gatos, Calif.-based provider of sports sensor technology, has raised $15 million in Series B funding. GGV Capital led the round, and was joined by Legend Capital, Bertelsmann and Cherubic Ventures. www.zepp.com

Knome, a Cambridge, Mass.-based developer of human genome interpretation software and services, has raised $13 million in new VC funding. Existing backers include BioMérieux SA and IBCC Corp.www.knome.com

Kensho, a New York-based developer of intelligent computer systems "capable of answering complex financial and market research questions posed in natural language," has raised $10 million in seed funding. Backers include General Catalyst, NEA, Accel Partners, Google Ventures and Devonshire Investors. www.kensho.com

4C, a New York-based big data analytics and social intelligence company that provides ad and measurement platforms, has raised $5 million in Series B funding from Jump Capital.www.4cinsights.com

StormWind, a Phoenix-based online training and e-learning company, has raised $5 million in Series C funding led by GSV Capital Corp. (Nasdaq: GSVC). www.stormwind.com

Private Equity Deals

Lee Equity Partners has acquired an undisclosed stake in Carlsbad, Calif.-based pizza chain Project Pie LLC, according to LBO Wire. www.projectpie.com

MDLive, a Sunrise, Fla.-based provider of telehealth services and software, has raised $23.6 million in new equity funding from Heritage GroupSutter Health and Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors. Existing backers include Sentara Healthcare and John Sculley. www.mdlive.com

Osprey Capital has acquired Orange Line Holdings Inc., a Los Angeles-based distributor of bulk motor lubricants, from Ferro Management Group. No financial terms were disclosed. FocalPoint Securities managed the process.

Partners Group has acquired Hofmann Menu Manufaktur, a German provider of frozen food products and catering services, from Gilde Buy Out Partners for an undisclosed amount.www.hofmann-menue.de


Party City, an Elmsford, N.Y.-based party supplies retailer, has filed for a $500 million IPO. Goldman Sachs and BofA Merrill Lynch are serving as co-lead underwriters. Shareholders include Thomas H. Lee Partners (69.44% pre-IPO stake) and Advent International (23.87%). TH Lee acquired its stake in 2012 via a $2.7 billion transaction. www.partycity.com

Phones4U, a UK-based phone and electrical supplies retailer owned by BC Partners, is considering a London floatation for later this year, according to the FT.  www.phones4u.co.uk


General Electric (NYSE: GE) has agreed to acquire API Healthcare, a Hartford, Wis.-based provider of healthcare workforce management software and analytics solutions, from Francisco Partners. No financial terms were disclosed. Spurrier Capital Partners managed the process.www.apihealthcare.com

Quest Diagnostics (NYSE: DGX) has agreed to acquire Solstas Lab Partners Group, a Greensboro, N.C.-based full-service commercial lab, from Welsh, Carson, Anderson and Stowe. No financial terms were disclosed. www.questdiagnostics.com

Windjammer Capital Investors has sold Automatic Bar Controls (a.k.a. Wunder-Bar), a Vacaville, Calif.-based maker of beverage dispensing systems for the foodservice industry, to The Middleby Corp. (Nasdaq: MIDD). No financial terms were disclosed. Sagent Advisors managed the process. www.wunderbar.com

DBS Group Holdings (Singapore: D05) is in "advanced talks" to acquire Societe Generale's (Paris: GLE) Asian private bank, according to Reuters. The deal could be valued at between $300 million and $400 million. www.dbs.com

Discovery Communications (Nasdaq: DISC) has acquired a 51% stake in Eurosport International, a European sports media company, at a valuation of $1.2 billion. www.eurosportcorporate.com

Fiat SpA has completed its acquisition of the 41.46% stake in Chrysler that it did not already own, for approximately $4.35 billion. www.chrysler.com

The Indian government has picked JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup and JM Financial to manage the sale of half its stake in Axis Bank. The deal is expected to be worth around $925 million.www.axisbank.com
